Ingredients

  1. ½ Cup of Raisins
  2. 3 tablespoon of Cornstarch
  3. ½ Cup of Sugar
  4. 2 Cups of Milk
  5. A Dash of Salt
  6. 2 Egg Yolks
  7. 1 teaspoon of Vanilla
  8. 2 Cups Cooked Rice
  9. A Dash of Nutmeg

Method

  1. Place the raisins in a small bowl and cover with boiling water. Let stand for 30 minutes, then drain
  2. Combine the cornstarch and the sugar and gradually stir in the milk, vanilla and salt
  3. Heat the mixture on the stove, over medium heat, stirring regularly, until thickened
  4. Beat the egg yolks in a small bowl. Whisk a small amount of the milk mixture into the beaten yolks, then whisk the yolks back into the milk
  5. Continue cooking for about 2 minutes
  6. Add the cooked rice and raisins
  7. Serve warm or chilled with a sprinkle of nutmeg
